Danielle has a strong understanding of the role and responsibilities of a school board. According to the Minnesota School Boards Association (MSBA), a school board sets the direction for the school district, ensures schools are run fairly and responsibly, and works to provide every student with a high-quality education. As a nurse and a mom, Danielle believes listening is one of the most important parts of this work. She is committed to listening to students, staff, families, and community members to better understand their needs and concerns. Danielle uses evidence-based practices and reliable information to guide decisions, just as she does in her nursing career. By listening carefully, communicating openly, and using facts to guide choices, she advocates for the health, safety, and success of students, staff, and the entire school community.
Families, students, educators, and staff deserve to be heard. Danielle believes the best decisions come from open communication, respectful dialogue, and transparency. She is committed to listening first and representing the voices of the community.
Every student deserves a safe, supportive environment where they can learn and thrive. Danielle supports whole-child education—academic achievement alongside mental, physical, and emotional well-being.
Strong schools depend on dedicated educators and staff. Danielle believes in collaboration, respect, and ensuring teachers have the resources, support, and working conditions they need to be successful.
With a background in nursing and psychology, Danielle values data, research, and proven practices over politics or personal agendas. Decisions should be guided by what works best for students and schools.
Danielle believes school finances should be guided by thoughtful planning, responsible stewardship, and open communication. She is committed to ensuring budgets and funding decisions are clearly explained, easy to understand, and developed with community input. The goal is responsible budgeting that supports students and staff, avoids unnecessary negative impacts, and prioritizes long-term stability for the district.
Schools are stronger when families, businesses, and community members work together. Danielle values partnerships that enhance learning opportunities and strengthen connections across the district.
